Orientation:
Welcome to Property Builders Hands-On Training! Our orientation session is designed to set the stage for an exciting and informative learning experience. During this session, you will sign in, meet your fellow participants, and get an overview of the daily schedule. We’ll introduce guest speakers, outline the course objectives, and kick off with a fun Monopoly tournament to break the ice and foster teamwork.
Marketing:
Our motivational speaker will guide trainees on how to develop self-confidence, ambition, and the skills to effectively market themselves to potential employers. This session will inspire you to take control of your career and set ambitious goals for your future.

Savings and Investments:

Safety / OSHA Compliance:

Property Builders Hands-On Training Program
At Property Builders, we provide hands-on training designed to prepare individuals for a rewarding career in the construction industry. Our comprehensive program spans a variety of essential skills, equipping trainees with the practical experience and technical expertise needed to succeed in residential and commercial projects. Upon completion of 480 hours of training, trainees will receive a pre-apprenticeship certificate of completion, job placement opportunities, and many additional benefits that will help launch their careers.
Blueprint Reading
This course introduces the fundamentals of blueprint reading, focusing on drawing, symbols, plans, elevations, and scaling. Trainees will develop the skills to read basic layouts, including structural, architectural, and specifications, while gaining an understanding of estimating principles.
- Prerequisites: Ability to read basic blueprints, basic math skills
- Course Length: 24 hours

Framing
Framing is essential in both residential and commercial construction. This course will teach trainees the skills necessary for ceiling and roof framing, as well as the layout of floors, walls, and interior/exterior work.

- Required Tools/Supplies: Framing square, chalk line, tape measure, hard hat, boots, hammer, pry bar, level, safety glasses, cordless screw gun, notebook, pencil
Drywall
In this course, trainees will learn the basics of drywall installation, including understanding various drywall sizes for interior and exterior walls in accordance with city codes.
- Prerequisites: Phase 1 General Carpentry Class
- Course Length: 40 hours
- Required Tools/Supplies: Drywall screw gun, T-square, tape measure, chalk line, rasp, utility knife, notebook, pencil
Plaster
This course focuses on the finish work required to create smooth walls ready for painting. Trainees will learn to tape and apply plaster to hide drywall seams, achieving flawless wall finishes.
- Prerequisites: Phase 1 General Finish Work
- Course Length: 40 hours
- Required Tools/Supplies: Taping knives (4” – 12”), mud pan, white shirt and pants, boots, mixing gun, bucket, notebook, pencil
Painting
Trainees will be introduced to basic painting techniques, including the different types of brushes and rollers suited for various surfaces. They’ll also learn proper prep work to protect contents and flooring before starting any painting project.

- Required Tools/Supplies: White shirt and pants, boots, paint brushes (2 ½” – 4”), roller and sleeve, paint pan, plastic covering, tarps, ladder, bucket, paint sticks
Trim / Mill Work
Learn the art of creating and applying wood casing, baseboard trim, crown molding, and arches over doors and windows in this course designed for precision carpentry.
- Prerequisites: Phase 1 General Carpentry Class
- Course Length: 24 hours
- Required Tools/Supplies: Files, safety glasses, chalk-line, chisel, tape measure, hammer, pouch, coping saw, hard hat, T-Bevel square
Cabinetry
This course will teach the essentials of basic cabinet installation, with a focus on designing floor plans for kitchens and bathrooms to fit various dimensions.

- Course Length: 24 hours
- Required Tools/Supplies: Level, cordless screw gun, chalk line, tape measure, 3” screws, drill kit, ladder
Flooring
Trainees will learn the process for installing various types of flooring, including sub-flooring, ceramic, wood, vinyl, and VCT tiles. This course provides the foundation for expert-level floor installation.

Estimating
This course provides trainees with the skills to estimate construction costs for both residential and commercial projects. Trainees will use a set of blueprints to identify and organize components of a building, preparing a comprehensive material list and cost breakdown.

Window Installation
Trainees will learn the ins and outs of window installation, including how to remove and install windows and evaluate their quality. This course will teach different types of windows and the necessary installation techniques for optimal performance.

Doors and Door Hardware
Learn how to install various types of doors and door hardware, including frames, hinges, locksets, exit devices, and closers. This step-by-step instruction covers all aspects of door installation and hardware assembly.

- Course Length: 40 hours
